Visakhapatnam, March 30, 2025 – Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) faced a tough start against Delhi Capitals (DC) in their IPL 2025 clash at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium. After losing four wickets in the power play, SRH staged a recovery, led by Heinrich Klaasen and Aniket Verma.

SRH Struggle Early
Winning the toss, SRH skipper Pat Cummins opted to bat first. However, DC’s bowling attack, spearheaded by Mitchell Starc, dismantled the top order.
- Abhishek Sharma was run out in the first over due to a direct hit from Vipraj Nigam.
- Ishan Kishan (6) was caught at third man off a sharp bouncer from Starc.
- Nitish Kumar Reddy (12) and Travis Head (9) also fell cheaply, leaving SRH at 58/4 by the end of the powerplay.
Klaasen, Verma Steady the Ship
After the early blows, Heinrich Klaasen and Aniket Verma took control. Klaasen played aggressively, dispatching Kuldeep Yadav for a six, while Verma showcased his power-hitting skills, smashing consecutive sixes off Axar Patel.
At the end of 13 overs, SRH reached 121/6, with Klaasen and Verma inching towards their half-centuries.
What’s Next?
With a solid rebuilding effort underway, SRH will look to post a competitive total. DC, on the other hand, will aim for more breakthroughs to maintain control.
