Fresh clashes broke out during a Waqf protest in West Bengal today, leading to the vandalism of police vehicles and the detention of two individuals.
According to officials, the situation escalated when a group of protesters allegedly turned violent, targeting police vans parked near the protest site. Law enforcement responded swiftly, dispersing the crowd and detaining two people believed to be involved in the violence.
Authorities have increased security in the area to prevent further unrest. Senior police officials confirmed that additional forces have been deployed and that the situation is now under control.
The protest was reportedly organized to oppose recent decisions related to Waqf property management. Officials have urged the public to maintain peace and warned of strict action against those disrupting law and order.
An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
